Myofascial Release Workshop
Friday February 7th, 7pm - 8:30pm and Saturday April 5th, 10am - 11:30am
Suffering from sore or restless muscles? Maybe your flexibility needs some work or you are extra prone to injury? Whatever the issue, myofascial release exercises may be the answer to these physical challenges.
Using myofascial release techniques is like a deep tissue massage for your muscles and is great for working into tight muscles that may be causing problems with joints and mobility. It is used for breaking down developed scar tissue within muscle and increasing blood flow into muscles.
Along with muscles, it also works into a soft tissue called fascia. Fascia is tissue that connects your muscles together to provide support throughout your entire body. Fascia is elastic and can stretch and move as one with the rest of your body. However, often due to increased exercise intensity, poor posture or movement patterns, stress and lifestyle factors, this fascia can tighten and become stiff, restricting movement and even causing pain.
Benefits of myofascial release exercises:
1. Improves range of motion and mobility
2. Enhances muscular performance
3. Relieves muscular soreness and speeds up recovery
4. Restores muscles and prevents injury
5. Improves posture and realigns muscle imbalances
In this workshop you will learn how to effectively use myofascial release tools such as foam rollers and release balls. Many people buy a foam roller because they were advised to but don’t know how to use it properly. They are often seen as intimidating pieces of equipment that cause pain so are avoided. Whether you are experienced or a novice, this workshop will help you get the most from a foam roller and set you up with self-massage techniques that will help feel great and move with more freedom.
